Large Nautical Rope Mat, Manila Rope

Description

Nautical Rope Mat

Make a bold statement at your entryway with this handcrafted Nautical Rope Mat. Measuring an impressive 46 inches by 21 inches (nearly 4 feet by 2 feet), this mat is crafted from 190 feet of sturdy 1/2-inch manila rope, ensuring it can withstand the elements, including all but the strongest storms.

Inspired by pattern 2275 from the Ashley Book of Knots and tied with four passes, this mat boasts intricate craftsmanship that is both functional and visually striking. Designed for durability, it will last for years outdoors; a testament to its quality, a similar mat made by the maker’s grandfather has endured for over 50 years.

In Mystic, it’s common to find woven mats at the doors of homes, but this one stands out for its complexity and strength. As time passes, the knot tightens, making it increasingly resilient. This doormat not only serves as a beautiful welcome mat but also reflects the timeless artistry of nautical craftsmanship.
